THE CREW
Who we are...

OPHELIA MURRAY
DIRECTOR
Ophelia Murray is a filmmaker living on Woiworung land. Since she was young, Ophelia has loved how film captured the hearts and minds of audiences, taking them on journeys of reflection and discovery. Having previously written and directed stories about interpersonal relationships, Ophelia is excited to direct Tenderfoot, which delves into examining mature themes of grief, death and loss. Upon preparing for the project, she is drawing and reflecting upon her family ties to rural Australia, and conducting research into the pitfalls of today’s stoic masculinity. Working on Tenderfoot, Ophelia hopes to inspire a reflection on stoicism and mental health in the 21st century, and alongside the striking talent of the Tenderfoot team, hopes to create a film that captures audiences' minds, just as films have allowed hers to be.

LEO MITCHELL
CO-WRITER
Leo is a young aspiring filmmaker with an intrinsic love for nature and storytelling. Lucky enough to be brought onto the Tenderfoot crew as a co-writer; he develops best through a combination of individual writing and shared collaboration. Leo has worked closely with co-writer Ruairi Walsh and director Ophelia Murray over the course of 2023 AND 2014 to make steady progress on crafting a screenplay that is able to capture themes of rural Australian isolation, grief, and how ideas of masculinity are passed down through generations. He hopes to continue contributing towards making Tenderfoot as authentic and impactful of a film as possible.
RUAIRI WALSH
CO-WRITER
Ruairi’s rural upbringing and constant curiosity about ideas of masculinity and self-realisation have fuelled his work as a writer, particularly in Tenderfoot. Always aiming to gain a deeper sense of empathy and understanding of other people, he hopes Tenderfoot does the same for others, bringing themes of rural and generational masculinity to the surface of a tense dramatic piece. Cowriting with Leo Mitchell has been a fantastic process, pushing him to consider each small choice more seriously, and justify every line.
